Who is the most impressive person you have known

If I don't count people I am related to, I would have to say John David Crow. He was the Heisman Trophy winner in '56 or '57, quite an elderly gentleman when I knew him, crippled by arthritis, he was really something.

Known, or met?

I had the honor of flying with Chuck Yeager once, my Navy squadron invited him to speak at a safety meeting and flew up to pick him up at his local Air Force Base. We flew him off the coast and did some low altitude stuff, and he drove around for a bit, including going between the peaks of the Farallon Islands at ~300'. :D

I also met Ross Perot once, didn't know who he was at the time. This was years before he ran for President. We flew to Fort Worth Texas for an air show, (same Navy P3 Squadron) and the small executive airport we were at had run out of rental cars. We were standing around the terminal waiting around for the rental car company to figure out how to deal with us when in walks this short guy with big ears followed by about 6 guys in suits. Sees us and goes to work on the rental car people to get moving and find us transportation.

He gets on the phone to the main rental car lot at DFW Airport, and the conversation went like this:

"This is Ross Perot..............No I'm not kidding!...These boys need some cars, right now. Credit card? (turns to his entourage) Give me a credit card."
Followed by six guys falling over themselves to be the first to hand Ross Perot their credit card.

It was pretty amusing.

My Step Mom,
She passed away in December. She spent her entire life with one job, she was a PT at a children rehab center. She was 4-11, quiet by nature and it only took a few seconds of meeting her to have total respect for the woman. You called her Ma'm simply because you wanted to. I have never met another person who was loved by everyone she met. Dad did it right the second time.

My current fling. She's incredible. Everything about her impresses the hell out of me.

Had a past girlfriend who was mentally unstable, which was also very 'impressive' - impressive that she didn't kill me. In and out of bed.
