I'm not sure what the law is where you live, but involuntary admission to a mental health institution is pretty tough in Texas.

Basically you have to get a police officer or judge to assert that the patient is a imminent threat to themselves or others. Any by imminent, I mean IMMINENT. We have patients admitted all the time who have threatened themselves or others in some way but if they aren't doing it NOW it doesn't count for the cops.

While I'm a staunch believer in, "For better or worse..." the line stops when it hurts your children. I'm sure you love your children enough to cause them a little short-term pain in the interest of a more stable, happy life with you.

IMHO, if you focus on the best interests of your children, then everything else will work out. This isn't about you, it isn't even about her, it's about them.
