p2p vpn for gaming question..
ok, who can recommend a free p2p vpn for gaming purposes? Our group used to use Hamachi but when we all upgraded to the newest version we cant connect anymore, (i know, brilliant) so we're looking for another one. Remobo wont work or Xfile, was thinking about Tunngle.
A few Ive found gives you the ability to connect together in a private network, but when you want to play a game, you must be able to select "connect to xx.xxx.xx", but the games dont have that option. You must already be in the network to automatically join to each other if that makes sense. Anybody have a suggestion? |
I've used this one before. Not the easiest to configure but once it is up it is solid.

and this will act like we are all on the same network, like a LAN line? In other words, if we are all connected and we start a game, it will think we are basically all in same room/network without having to type in IP address somewhere?

Try hamachi..
the free version ain't so good at traversing NAT's on both ends, performance issues but if one of you can setup port forwarding on the broadband router, it should work just fine. https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp |
see above, Hamachi won't work. ive talked to their support a few times, they can't figure it out either.
