Cell Phone to Headset adapter, Aircraft
Anyone ever use one of these? do they work or is this something that I can just make so I can use my phone thru my headset mic and earphones.

I've heard from people happy with this setup, but I've never needed to be on the phone when flying. A quick call to FSS for a briefing before hopping aboard is sufficiant for my flying.

FSS is not the worry, its the Wife, when are you going to be home from the airport, where are you, etc...etc....
maybe not a good idea after all

Gotcha. My wife knows I won't answer the phone when I'm in the airplane. She will leave a message or a text and I can call her back when I'm back down. Good enough for both of us.

I have "Pilot My-Cast" by Garmin on my phone for $8.99/month on my phone and the radar/terminal forecasts/winds aloft/etc are nice, but the cell phone does not work typically unless at very low altitude (eg 500' AGL usually works on my phone in my area, but 1000' AGL usually does not). I think the the signals are emitted horizontally from cell towers so cell reception gets spotty to non existant as altitude increases.
