Best Motorcycle/freight shipper?

Sorry if this has been covered before but all I remember are car shipping threads. Anyone know the best, (and by that I mean cheapest), way to ship a fully-crated MC across a few state lines? TIA.

Is Forward Air still around? If so, that used to be the cheapest way to ship bikes. However, you needed to crate it yourself, and the shipping was terminal-to-terminal (not door-to-door).

Forward Air is still around but not so cheap, last I checked. Thinking that some regular freight company might be better and terminal-to-terminal is fine.

Denis,

Go to www.uship.com and advertise the shipment. You will receive a number of bids while being able to see the each shipper's ratings from previous shipments. I used this service with very good satisfaction.

The guy in North Dakota that bought my Triumph this summer used www.haulbikes.com He said it was cheaper than driving down and picking it up in his pickup truck. They came right to my door to pick it up. I didn't have to do anything. The guy picking it up did a great job and it arrived in perfect condition.

Thanks a lot!

Not sure yet, Rick. Looking at a couple of long-distance purchases.

Do the fly and ride. I bought my first two Beemers 500 miles away and rode them home. Great way to learn the bike.

Do it! Do it! I'm riding my new bike to LA in two weeks. If you pick yours up after that, I'll meet you in Albuquerque and ride with you to Flagstaff.
