New Mini design.
It looks like it was raped by the '80's.
shhhh, don't tell sniper.
I dont like it, it just doesn't do it for me.
Wow, an updated design out of BMW w/o the requisite scowling LED hi-lited headlights. -I like it.
That looks like ass.
Terrible. Why can't the stick to the classic Mini look?
Because they want attention and to sell cars. Just look at the crazy stuff BMW puts out there. ...cars that look like clown shoes, cars made of canvas....

I think I kinda like it too.
Just to clarify i didn't say i liked it. Just that i like it way way better then the current mini. ;)
Ok, then it's just me. I think I kinda like it. (but hey, I'm a weirdo, so I guess that explains a lot...)
I'd go so far as to say i "kinda" like it. You're not alone bro.
See, Snipe, my man, you're making progress. Pretty soon we can let you loose on the world...:D:D:D
The 2nd gen. Mini was hard enough to like - i.e. wider, lower roof. The concept pictured above is just plain atrocious.
So much for BMW leaving well enough alone. |
See now i'm of the opposite thinking. The wider stance and lower roof of the 2nd gen mini reduced it's econo-boxedness quotient to me, and made it better looking.
It was still a box, but a better box. This one is very oddly shaped, but at least it's not a box anymore. |
Now it's just another small car.
I think it looks like a joke. I don't really understand how MINI is commercially viable, they build overpriced parodies of real cars with interiors lifted from old Power-Wheels toys. This one looks like a MINI convertible wearing a cycling cap. Hipsters rejoice.
the fact that the mini was a box was it's allure. this, well... this is a failure.
This goes away from the entire principle of the Mini: a small square fun commuter car.
The Brits with any memory of the original must be ratcheting up their ire toward the Germans. Expect war? Who knows? The Mini is/was one of the most distinguished brands in automotive history, even after the early stages of BMW's takeover of the brand. Mini and (the) Porsche 911 are actually 1 and 2 in popularity, IIRC. Now, as far as keeping its original lines, only the 911 exists. |
