Shawn Merriman, a linebacker for the SD Chargers was charged with domestic abuse on his girlfriend, Tila Tequila. He claims she was drunk, and he was just restraining her, she claims she had not been drinking, he choked her and knocked her around.

He is literally more than twice her size, it seems to me she would not be talking about it if he actually assaulted her. Any thoughts, aside from how does his posse let him get together with that gal?

The most offensive thing about this entire article is Tequila being referred to as a "star". I can think of another 4-letter word starting with "s" that is more appropriate.

Tila Tequila represents all that is wrong and disgusting with this society to me. You can get famous and make truckloads of money for literally being an internet whore (not real whores-they earn their money)...

Her rise to fame was the fact that she, in 2003 or whatever, had the most MySpace friends and therefore got a photoshoot with Maxim. Because she had the most MySpace friends of anyone. Which in of itself is disgusting.

The fact that I find her slightly attractive makes all of this even more depressing.

She'd be better looking if she wasn't so madeup. I also have to admit that her extreme overexposure is a big turnoff too--as is her probable list of STDs.

The only defense is to avoid trouble-making beotches like this. She seems like the type that is only out for publicity and money and has little or no morals. Using her looks and her body for profit.

I've never had one bring me down because I know better and stay away from trouble.

Last week I was on a business trip and took a guy who works for me on the trip. He's about 30 years old, married, with 4 kids (he told me one is one illegitimate from cheating on his wife).

The first night there he wanted to go out "clubbing". I said no, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. Stay sharp.
The next night representatives from corporate took us out to dinner, afterward he wanted to borrow the rental car to go out clubbing. I said you're married, act like it. He said it's OK to look at the menu as long as you eat at home, but I could tell what was on his mind. Some guys don't know how to act when they go out of town, it's like amateur hour.

Nope I said, you've been drinking and I signed a paper that I would be the only one driving the rental car".
He was bummed.
The next night we went to dinner, he was pounding drinks, same conversation. Nope, take a taxi.
The next morning at breakfast he was late and looked like crap. He told me he went back to the restaurant and picked up on a waitress. They went out clubbing and they ended up back at his room for sex and he only got 2 hours sleep.

I suggested that instead of telling me this, he should call his wife and kids and tell them all about it. He looked at me like I was crazy.

I gave him a speech about what it means to be a man, and how looking in the mirror and seeing someone you respect is more important than all the cheap thrills in the world. I explained how resisting temptation is more rewarding than giving into it and how doing the right thing is so important.
I don't think he got it. I could tell he was thinking I was a fool.
All day long he could barely focus on the task, the corporate representatives could tell he was out of it and it reflected negatively on me and made me seem less responsible. One even asked if we had gone out painting the town red.
I said not me, I was studying until 9:00 and then went to bed. She looked at the guy I had brought and rolled her eyes, I kind of shrugged in aknowledgement.
Yes I threw him under the bus but he asked for it and had it coming.
He hurt my reputation
That didn't really matter too much to me, I'm definitely not an ambitious ladder climber. I'm already higher in the corporation than i want to be. they just "volunteer" me for projects even though they know I don't care about looking good. Usually that works better than being a kiss-up.
But I do have pride and like to think I'm a good leader and judge of character. he let me down.

I lost quite a bit of respect for him that day. I had decided a year ago that I was going to be a mentor to him and help him grow and advance his career, now I don't think it will be worth the effort. He was only there because I had given him a chance to shine, an opportunity to get exposure. It was a chance most ambitious climbers dream about.

I think I'll pick a person who knows the difference between right and wrong, someone I can respect. Someone I can trust and won't regret promoting eventually.
I'm on vacation this week but next week I''ll be in San Antonio at the corporate office, you can bet he isn't invited.

Great story, that guys moral compass is broken. If he will cheat on his wife there is no telling what kind of damage he will do to the company.
