Some ####### just keyed my 928

Went out to a great lunch in the nearby Yarra Valley wine region with my family and in-laws today.

I took the family (me, wifey, 6yo son, 3yo son and 11 week old daughter) in the VW.

The 911 was tucked away.

The 928 was left in the street on a sunny Saturday afternoon for maybe 4 hours. I have driveway issues and have to queue them up so was lazy ...

Looks like something quite sharp dragged up and down the side. Can't see metal but white powder under the blue paint.

It's old news that this sh#t happens.

But freakin' why ?

Father's day tomoz.

Serenity now.

What a wonderful world....full of f***** idiots.

People truly do suck.

I hope there's karma. I really do.

Fix it and move on. And always assume people will do the most stupid/obnoxious/inconsiderate things at all times.

In the time I've lived here, I've had my 944 smashed into twice while parked (both times nobody left a note, many hours of body work and replaced panels later), my motorcycle kicked over twice (breaking the side view mirror both times) and my Mercedes pissed on. Yes, literally pissed on. By a human (no dog could reach the hood, roof and windshield). And we're in a reasonably nice part of town.

People really do suck. Sorry to hear about it.

Bummer, Steve. People do suck when no one's looking (or in a crowd / gang).

Jeff, that's just messed up! Only a sociopath or worse would urinate on someone's car.

More likely just a drunk azzhole. We have them by the hundreds around here every weekend.

EDIT, I should post the pictures of the accident out front from two weeks ago. I wasn't involved (thankfully) but someone - again probably drunk - was heading down the main street here and sideswiped SIX cars. Clipped a white BMW, taking its driver's side mirror off and crunching the door & front fender, then completely drilled a small pickup truck (hard enough to launch it into the back of an Audi parked in front of it and up over the curb, half onto the grassy median between the curb and sidewalk). The Audi's back end was completely destroyed. The two cars in front of the Audi were gone by the time I got to check it out but the Audi clearly had front-end damage too from being pushed into someone, and a Suburban had its mirror and front fender smashed too. Somehow the perp got away and nobody saw/reported anything. My wife saw it coming home from work in the AM - I guess a small crowd had gathered (parked vehicle owners). This isn't common here, but it's not uncommon (I've seen similar stuff several times since I started living here). Blatant hit-and-run.

People suck. I can't wait to get out of this area where there's such a dense concentration of them. I'm moving to an area that can only be described as "rural" in a few weeks. Can't wait. I'll never live in a city again. Ever. For any amount of salary.

Sorry to hear that. I get furious with such meaningless vandalism.

Vincent: What's more chicken**** than ****ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't **** with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

sorry to hear about that. Hope you can get it fixed and as good as new.

At least the person who keyed my truck knew who I was and wrote my name on the side "A$$"

Probably a 911 owner that didn't like my comments in the 911SC thread.

carson911s 09-05-2009 01:22 PM

Thanks gents.

But I had dreams last night of leaving the car out there again as bait and me lying in wait dressed in camo with a baseball bat. That revenge scene made me feel a little better.

So yeah, back to the real world, I'll get it fixed and move on.

PS Is it normal that I quietly in a private moment apologised to the 928 ? I mean I actually spoke to it ....

Looking_for_911 09-05-2009 01:40 PM

I think it's quite normal to speak to our cars. I talk to mine all the time. :-)

As far as the vandalism.... I think it's one of the pitfalls of owning something nice. So many jealous-azzed people out there can't stand the fact that they don't have whatever it is they're about to crap all over so they take it upon themselves to screw with our property.
They should all be shot.

An alcoholic one at that...
