Another New Caddy

Another new Caddy to hit the showroom floor soon.

This is one of the best detailed cars I have ever seen. The rear tail lights, rear wiper arm and interior in general get special notice.

The carbon fiber accents don't show up in the pictures, nicer in real life.

Guy buys a nice new Caddy & then cuts up some old carpet for floor-mats?!

I can appreciate the detailing, but the car doesn't do it for me. Too chunky. And I think the dash/interior is far too busy.

Now the new CTS wagon is a great looking car. I would consider getting one to replace my wife's A4 Avant Quattro when the lease is up...except my wife would never drive a Cadillac. Too "flashy" for her. Whatever. I think the Audi is extremely good looking too.

strupgolf 09-05-2009 06:00 PM

That is one ucking fugly car.

onlycafe 09-05-2009 06:06 PM

Erm...car?

Looks like just another ugly SUV to me. :(

Hugh R 09-05-2009 06:57 PM

Those tail lights are fugly.

onewhippedpuppy 09-05-2009 06:59 PM

Nice interior. The exterior is too busy, I like the old SRX better. And the freaking cliche fake chrome fender vents.....wtf?

Absolutely hideous. Appears to have been designed by a team whose only tool is a straight edge.

Sorry, but...that "ugh boat" makes it easy. GM is supposed to rise from the ashes, no? Let 'em build this:

m21sniper 09-05-2009 07:58 PM

That thing- whatever it is- is even uglier.

Nah, it's cool. I believe it is the concept for the one above.

I agree with the original post; very nice details.

Lousy concept (high CG, inefficient, truckish-looking station wagon), very well executed.

IMHO, if you want a station wagon - buy a station wagon. You want a truck - buy a truck. You want a luxury car - buy a luxury car. You want a performance car - buy a Porsche.

I actually hope the CTS wagon has details so well executed.

HardDrive 09-05-2009 10:16 PM

LMAO!!! Seriously laughing here. We have come full circle, with GM immitating the Japanese! I don't want to run down and take a photo at the moment, but I swear the interior is a copy of my wifes 03 Lexus RX SUV.

I don't think it looks bad. I like the taillights. At least Cadillac has the balls to build something that stands out. Good on them. Its a Saturn Vue with different wallpaper, correct?

spuggy 09-06-2009 12:41 AM

Gee. Our tax dollars at work, huh? Those are the ugliest POS's I've seen since - well, the last ones...

Audi FJ Cruiser? Seriously, are there a lot of TT owners that really wish they could fit 20" AT rubber under their cars?

It's worth noting that GM publicly targeted the RX with the new SRX. Why not, the RX dominates the small luxury SUV segment.

oilonly 09-06-2009 05:59 AM

Like all welfare recipients it seems GM has gone soft in the head.

tcar 09-06-2009 09:44 AM

It's a

Penske VUE,

Government Motors Equinox

clone...

Here's my Caddy

I'm considering the new Caddy Wagon to replace my Saab 9-5 wagon.

I had a 72, 76, 78 and 87 Coupe Deville. I loved those cars, all of them.

That Audi reminds me of this:

cairns 09-08-2009 10:35 AM

The Audi looks cool. I love the color. The Caddy looks like last years RX only uglier. The rear wiper is so small I wonder why they bothered.

I miss the 59 Cad too; I also loved the 61 and 62.

911boost 09-08-2009 10:43 AM

I like the fact that GM is bringning back the "sport wagon" name. Of course, I have the original sportwagon from them.
