That's impressive. I tried to use a spreadsheet, but have found that www.cellartracker.com works exceptionally well. Basic use is free, you can make a donation if you want rating and pricing information. Putting the wine info in is easy, maintaining it is not.

I saw a similar rack where the drain tiles were set in a wall of spec mix. For weight considerations I'm sure the spec mix was only 2-3" deep set on some wire. It was amazing looking and was a 100+ bottle setup. I have a 5x8 wall in a closet-converted-wine-cellar that I still hope to try this on...someday...

Cool, dry, dark- all those rules. One of the problems- and why underhouse cellars are so good- is temperature change. The Cellarmaster at my house goes into mad panic at come summer. Our cellar is less a cellar and more a large cupboard under the stairs which we have racked to hold about 30doz.

One of the best ways for long term cellaring- leave it boxed and shove it away in a cool dark place.
