Back to being Single

Well after a two year relationship things finally came to a screeching halt. I just couldn't see this relationship lasting forever and we weren't getting along anymore. I guess its time to regroup and see what college has to offer.

Life is too short to be not happy.

porsche4life 09-11-2009 06:41 PM

Thats the way I started feeling. I just wasn't happy. Then my unhappiness was starting to make her unhappy and that is when I finally decided it was over. I am ok wrecking my life but I will not be responsible for wrecking the life of someone that I do care about.

That's a darned noble way to dump a girl...;)

Hey I try Paul. My daddy didn't teach me much but he did teach me to treat a woman right and to make motors sing.

So, you're going to cruise for chicks on the local campus? :)

porsche4life 09-11-2009 06:57 PM

I am in college. Heck yes there will be cruising. It will be a few weeks though.

Dude, at your age do not settle in on any one female. I was 37 before I finally found my soul mate. There are lots of women out there. One of them might rip out you heart, but take the chance date them all, don't settle for good enough, go for the long term. You will know when you find the right one.

Just be sure to wear a "hat" sow your wild oats but pray for a crop failure!

Freshman (freshwomen?) Will always privide a new outlook on life :D

porsche4life 09-11-2009 07:17 PM

Don't worry Glenn. I plan to take notes from my room mate about not letting any one tie me down for a while. Oh good news I can make the tour drive now.

dentist90 09-11-2009 07:19 PM

Did you use Castanza's "It's not you, it's me.." line??

Nope sadly I did not. I just told her the gods honest truth about how I had felt lately.

gassy 09-11-2009 07:34 PM

Go hoggin'.

vash 09-11-2009 08:54 PM

some funny responses here!

man! what i would give to be your aged and recently dumped!! i was the king, of short relationships..i think my record (in relationship duration) all thru college was 8 months. i wasnt looking for a wife. some chicks broke my heart, and i swear to all that is holy, i can only remember one of the names. (we are now decent friends). the rest i cannot remember any names! i remember their dad's nice cars, dogs, errr...sisters...stuff like that, but it all evaporated from my mind. goes to show what they meant at the time.

gather up some friends, take a trip to bangkok. report back with details.

Very true.

I swear high school seniors are more "grown up" than most college freshmen. I knew an awful lot of girls in college my freshman year who were "off the leash" so to speak and went wild - drinking, partying, screwing around (that part I enjoyed), etc. Don't bother trying to get in any sort of prolonged relationship with one - things will settle down by junior year or so or shortly after graduation. College should be about "work hard, play hard". Don't burden yourself with crazy serious relationships unless you accidentally find yourself being that one-in-ten-thousand that finds your soulmate by the time you're 22 (not likely).

porsche4life 09-11-2009 09:18 PM

Well Jeff before a few weeks ago I thought I had. It just got to where I was doubting that more and more and I finally broke it off. I will play the field. Now whether or not you guys get pictures...

This is sound advice, take it.

True words. I suppose most of us have been in your situation at least once. Finding yourself in a deep, dark pit but once you manage to climb out of it you realize how wonderful it is to feel the sun is shining brighter than ever.

Gogar 09-12-2009 06:33 AM

Dang, Sidney. Sometimes I think you're a 45-year old man trapped in an 18-year old body.

I think it's for the best anyway, since you guys are a few hours away from each other. Like you were all last year. Find one that lives down the street and experience all that has to offer for a while. (It's got its own set of issues too, but it's still fun.)
