Miatanomics

Recently agreed to buy a '90 miata w/ 300k on the clock.

Cost: $500

Just this morning was cruising local classifieds and came across the following for sale (from a '92):
motor w/ 142k, trans, driveshaft, LSD rear, alternator, radiator, various hoses and a few other bits and pieces.

Total cost: $400.

I mean seriously, this is just stupid cheap!

You buy it too? Can never have too may parts.

yup. was just going to pick up the motor and alternator but he was only asking $100 each for the trans and rear. got the package deal price. will be going to see him in a few weeks to help him pull everything after i've checked compression.

guy's putting a v8 in the car so the old stuff coming out isn't due to wear/problems.

Both are cheap prices, he!! with all the money you saved you can get a couple of pink shirts

just kidding, sounds like a score

That's a good buy. LSD & a motor and other extras. It's still a 1.6, but it does have the long nose crank.

For the record, I never find deals like this. Case in point, I recently missed out on a Hard Dog roll bar that sold for $150.

I had the chance to buy a 92 miata about 5 years ago, fresh top end on a 140k motor, nice interior, good tires, in need of paint and a new top. For $500.

I didn't do it, and subsequently regret it everytime I think about it.

But if I would have done that I wouldn't have gotten into Porsches.
