Would it have a negative affect on any of the native Flora and fauna? Also, it would destroy the scenic beauty. Could do more harm than good. I should have used green font (edit) Arrrgh! Island must have posted while I was typing. Proving that weak minds think alike... ![]()

What we really need is a strong leader to do what's right, regardless of the consequences..(still waiting).......
I don't think the desert would be hurt by a little shade. All I want is for Texans to be considered a little more refined than yurt-building/mares-milk-drinking Mongols ![]() Oh well. |

How much longer before solar becomes like "big oil"? ...you know, those evil solar energy companies, who only want us to turn on the lights when it's already sunny... ![]()

It's always sunny somewhere on the planet.
Didn't you read the "New World Order" mantra? |

Ya gotsta start thinking Tesla, not Edison.
But, then again, he thought a global wireless communication system could be "free" back in 1920. |

Turning the road into a solar power generators is really thinking out of the box. Gotta give'em credit for that. Whether is is practical or not is another story. Withstanding a truck is not so important as withstanding a snow plow...unless, as he mentioned the surface was heated.
Re China: Not surprised. Already been to the largest windmill farm in the world...and the 2nd. Both in China. Much of the west of China is simply wasteland. The Taklamakan is without a doubt the driest, most brutal desert in the world with substantial portions below sea level. Perfect place for such constructions.
