Prickly Pear spines...ouch !

I was carrying a potted PP cactus today and got some the spines in my arm and some in my side and even one in my fact. These are the very tiny ones that are darn near microscopic and now causing a minor rash.

I have tried removing them with tape to no avail. Drivin' me nuts. Some of you Az guys much know how I can get relief. My wife said I'd have them for a couple weeks and I'm not sure I can live with that...

Need some advice ! :(

you might try a bikini wax.
good luck.

I'd probably opt for the wife using a magnifying glass & tweezers. Tape usually doesn't adhere to those kinds of spines very well. Good luck.

Tweezer those areas very thoroughly and deeply...Pressing in as you bring the tweezer arms/hands together. If you are as blind as me, you won't be able to see them so just do the entire area. You will have to take some skin with you to get to them.

I'm sure there are folks some where that would think that sounds like a huge turn-on.

I think it sounds like hell.

I'll try after dinner. My wife makes jewelry and has an optical loupe that might magnify enough to see them... I got some out by scraping sideways with a knife. I don't much like the sound of deep digging with tweezers either.

You just have to deal with it for a week or two. They will work their way out don't worry.

Clay bar it!

I haven't done that since i was 10. My advice would be not to even touch that stupid catus.

spine removal

When one of our kids gets cactus spines in them, we put Elmers glue over the affected area and let it dry. After the glue dries peel it off and the spines will come out if they are'nt too deep. This works very well for us. Good luck!

We are Mission San Antonio in central California. My wife tells me, "My dad used to give us prickly pears for us." So of course, I pick one for her. BIG mistake. Even after all the spine are removed it hurts like a mother for another day. Grin and bear it...

I used PVC glue to get some out of me. Uhm, it's gonna burn but it works. Just dab a layer or 2 over the area and let it dry. A little sweating pops the glue loose from your skin and you peel it off.
