We "hung out" on Saturday, and I'm feeling OK so far. She just left the doc with a positive test and a prescription.

What are the chances of me coming out of this unscathed?

My doc says they won't do anything unless i get sick, which makes sense. But I hate just sitting around waiting for it.

It depends on the level of contact. If you were open mouth kissing I suspect you are going to get it. If you were just watching TV you may be OK.

How far were you 'hanging it out'? Any number of ways you could have gotten it. Does anybody know the incubation time?

Here is my professional, unofficial tip: Your GF presumably got a prescription for penicillin, 10 days worth. Take one or two of her tablets. That will in 90% of the cases delete any Streptococci in your throat and it won´t matter for her treatment, whether she takes 9 or 10 days.

Don´t tell any other doctors I said this. Not very conventional. :D

When I was in 4th grade, this girl and I gave each other strep throat for several on-going months. It took both of us being on the anti-biotics at the same time to get rid of it.

I wonder if you might get strep wiener? :D

i want a doctor that talks like this!! my doc is a young cute indian lady, and if she ever drops the f bomb, i am high fiving the nearest nurse.

I kid, well not about the saltwater part, will soothe the sore throat.
