IMO much classical music is indeed headbanger music without the distortion. very intense and melodic.
flattbutt System does what so many other poser 'bands' try to do. other guys get radio play by 'rooaaaaaarrrrrrr' ing into the mike trying to sound like bad asses but System is the real deal.

If you watch the first video, and actually play an instrument, you can see that the track has been overdubbed in several places. Not saying they don't have talent, but what you see, isn't what it sounded like there. The song has a bassline in it, but do you see a bassist? Still pretty cool, and I'm with Snipe on this one, Christine Wu is indeed mucho smoking.

Yeah, from :39 to :48 who is drawing a bow? Michelle Wu is using pizzicato, and Jennifer Lynn isn't doing anything.
Still cool though. If my intonation on a fretless bass was half as good as their's, I'd be REALLY happy! |

Autotune is too much like cheating
I want EVERYONE to know I suck!I like Sting's take on playing fretless. He said that if you screw up, just do it again, and they'll think you meant to do it, and call you a genius. Nigel Kennedy is different, I'll give him that. Thanks for turning me on to him. Most everyone who watches that video doesn't understand that often the simplest Classical piece is more technically demanding than hardcore Heavy Metal. And you guys that can play Jazz, just astound me. I will never figure Jazz out. I'm just not talented enough. |
