My 19 yo barista daughter who works at a more, umh conventional cafe calls these places "sl*t huts". They are quite plentiful up here in the over caffeinated part of the country.

when I typed out "280" I thought to myself "well, that's not possible".. but left it anyways to exaggerate on purpose...

Maybe it is 280 degrees, existing as a superheated liquid for a few brief seconds in my cup before turning directly to a gas as it scalds the insides of my mouth....

These stands are all over the place up here (Jerry - I like that - "slut huts"...). The hand-wringing little old ladies are all in a twitter about it.

Quite frankly, I wish these particular young ladies would just cover up. Most have night jobs at strip clubs, and probably look o.k. in the dark, after you've had a few drinks accross the street (WA strip clubs are dry). But in the light of day? OMFG, these can be some scary women. Meth/crack ho's, virtually one and all. It's far more pleasant to pull up to a stand and see an appropriately dressed, pretty young lady with a pretty smile that has all of her teeth, and can actually make a good cup of joe.

Spent a week in the Seattle area a few years ago doing some evaluations of a bus company. Near the bus yard was a bikini coffee stand.

Nice girls, great coffee. I stopped there every morning. Got no problem with fair weather clothing. Rather see that than someone's underwear hanging out above their pants...

Now if there were a coffee shop staffed by bikini clad MEN - I'd probably go there three times a day! ;)

Seems in south America they have these places where the baristas are gorgeous ladies that wear short, tight, skirts and high heels... been going on for some time.
