old photos i cant delete
i have a low end cool pics camera that i think is a nikon that there are about 6 pictures i can not delete from the card. when it was one or two i could live with it, but its a pain now. they will not open for viewing, the icon will delete, but next time i plug the camera in they return. i have tried renaming them & deleting, no go. some are photos i renamed while still in the camera, but recently a couple with the camera assigned number/letter/jpeg deal will not go away.
any suggestions? t |
pull out what you do want, and re-format?
|
yeah, format the card.

Had a pentex that had the same problem.
Never figured it out. Camera finaly broke, problem solved. |

Format the card. Depending upon the camera. Some/most cameras have a "format card" option in the menus. Assuming the card is removable, you could also do it from a card reader connected to your PC. |
Are the pictures on the card itself or in some internal memory of the camera? Some older cameras used to have some internal memory that allowed you to take 10-15 pictures without needing a memory card.
|
If you can't reformat the card, replace it.

the camera was dropped while in a backpack so the display is history. can t access any menus or the like. i know some are going to say junk it, but it still takes fine photos and i am no ansel adams so what the hell. can i reformat it on anothers camera and drop it back in mine?
thanks |

Did you ever get the card formatted?
One other thought, that I can't believe no one has mentioned. How about just get a new card? They're pretty cheap these days. < edit >Oops, I guess Steve C did mention it. :) < /edit > |
i hear these kinds of problems can be fixed with a sledgehammer.
