OK, well. His mother died in a concentration camp, his wife and yet to be born child were savagely murdered. He has kept a low profile, had a very succesful career and done nothing reprehensible for the last thirty years, but you guys want "Justice" and throw him in jail for charges that his victim wants dissmissed? Sorry if I do not understand your justice system very well, but it doesn`t take a rocket scientist to see that it is all fuched up. And I usually don`t waste my time trying to understand things that don`t work.

Hey, I drugged and raped a minor, but SINCE then I have adopted bunny rabbits, voluntarily pet the puppies at the shelter, take my elderly neighbors garbage cans to the curb, never turn up the stereo volume past 6, and haven't drugged or raped a single minor. I guess since the crime took place so long ago, it is no longer a crime. Got it. |

You do a crime You serve your sentence(punishment) you ask for forgiveness/redemption Living a millionaire's life in France while earning accolades and praise is not really punishment. What has he done to pay for this crime?? |
Sounds like the victim has forgiven him, now he will be given the opportunity to provide his redemption.

In this case, a presidential pardon from Obama would seem like an appropriate gesture. And it would also be a good occasion for him to warm up again with the polish, who have felt let down by the abandon of the missile shield. Maybe this is the way it will go, we`ll see.

No POTUS in the world would consider pardoning a child rapist. Kidding me?

Higgins has a good point. The victim wants this dropped. Shouldn't that count for something? Do we have to drag her through this all over, again?
At the same time, this guy's gotten away with a pretty big deal, IMO. If he had just raped your 13 yr-old daughter last month, I'd think you'd think the same. Being on the lam for 30 years shouldn't excuse him from what he's done. There is an element of justice that is (for better or worse) blind. And from a selfish personal safety issue, whether or not he's been behind bars, executed, rehabilitated, or AWOL, by being persona non grata for so many years, at least he's effectively been removed from the American population to prevent him from doing the same to anyone else. Well, at least here in the U.S.A. The rest of the child rapist-loving Euros can fend for themselves. I don't know if I'd be actively pursuing him around the world, but I certainly know I wouldn't throw this guy a pardon, were I POTUS. |

There was a man who killed a bunch of Amish children in the state of Pennsylvania. The families of the children killed forgave the man who did it, so obviously he should go free You are just looking for an argument. You are wrong, and nothing you can say will make you right. oh, btw, I corrected your mistake in capitalization in your quote, you sad atheist SOB. |
