Transplant Part III Final Edition
It's done, I finally drove it home today, new radiator, new 2.2 Subaru, it runs good and one hill here in Dana Point I could only get up to 40 on, I can now do a little over 55. Not a 911 but way better than the VW motor it had. The car now has Audi front brakes, Brembo rear brakes, KYB shocks, 15" wheels, new radiator, lots of small stuff, stainless exhaust. New front and rear bumpers. A week from Thursday I plan on going to a car show in Kernville and then taking it to Cambria, up Hwy 1 for some Otter pictures and back through Solvang for some wine. We will see how it works.
Pictures similar to before but now it is in my driveway and it runs. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1254265440.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1254265461.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1254265494.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1254265509.jpg |
That is cool. I really like the van and the swap looks very clean . the Subie engine look right at home. Where is the radiator? Was it an expensive conversion?

83-91 were liquid cooled, motor in the rear and radiator in the front. A Subaru works perfect.

Congrats!

Looks nice. Any hassles with the smog checks?
|
There shouldn't be, it's the right year and has all the original smog crap. I have to call for an appointment tomorrow. It was smogged in July so I really wouldn't have to do it for almost two years but I don't usually keep cars long so I might as well do it now.

That really does look like a factory install!
