La Liga Tickets - FC Barcelona suggestions
I'm taking the family to Barcelona, and my daughter's partner has a life-long dream to see Barca at Camp Nou. I have to admit, seeing Messi play in the home stadium sounds exciting.
From what I've been able to understand, the exact timing of the match (against Levante in early April) is not finalized until 10-14 days before the match (due to TV schedule changes on the desirability of the specific matches). That's fine - except that we leave on the Monday and that's a potential date if they shift the match time. Am I correct that once the match time is set, some of the season ticket holders release their tickets for general sale, which opens seating possibilities? Although I could purchase the tix today, since it's a non-trivial amount (for six people) and we have risk of not being in town for a match day, I think it is best to wait until the date is confirmed. Once the date is confirmed, is the best source to go right to the FC Barcelona site? Are there better local sources? Appreciate any local insights from Spanish football fans. I also sent a PM to Paco Anton. Thanks, Don

What's this hippy dippy fake sports crap???
![]() I'll see if I can contact someone I know who went to a Barcelona game in Spain a few years ago as a birthday present. I suspect that they just bought tickets online somewhere. I also bump into lots of Barcelona fans here at the local pub, many of whom are Spanish ex-pats, they might have some ideas.

Well, not very helpful, but found out that they used Viagogo, which is like an international Stubhub, and Barqa tickets are one of their specialties. She said that they met the season ticket holder in personal and made the sale then, but looking at the website there are e-ticket options.
Don't know about the date and time issues, I see the same stuff online that you have seen. Also, are you going to see Levante? I don't see them on the schedule in April...

A colleague and I were in Barcelona over a weekend a few years ago, and we caught a Sunday evening match (started at 8, so it was a bit of a late night for a Sunday.) We just bought tickets the day before at one of the several fan shops in town which I believe to be the official sellers. If I recall correctly it was the one in the mall down by the water. No idea if the pricing was competitive or if it was unusual to be able to buy them the day before, but it was easy (and it wouldn't have made us too unhappy if it didn't happen.)

Sorry for missing your post but I was a bit busy today and could not procrastinate on PP as usual. Anyway I already sent you most of the info I know by email. Regarding the possibility of holding the match on Monday, I belive it is nearly impossible as both Real Madrid and Barça matches are viewed worldwide and are usually played on prime time either Saturday or Sunday. Also since Barça plays the Champions League and it is played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the match can't be played on Monday (provided the Barça eliminates Chelsea). Anyways I belive your best chance is to get the tickets when you are there, either in the web or the vendors as I expect there will be tickets available. Best regards. Paco |
