Packers vs. Vikings...will "Brent" exact revenge?
So will Favre stomp on 'em or not?

Can we all now say Ted Thompson is an idiot? As a life long Packer fan I can't take any more of his terrible offensive line teams. Then he gets rid of one of the best QBs in history. Time for him to go!

Favre didn't exactly put Thompson in an easy spot.

I do agree TT has till the end of the year to get an O line or he should be gone. Other than that I think he has done a good job and handled the Favre situation perfectly. I mean why would you want to keep a egomaniac QB that for 4 straight years has sucked in big games and sucked once the weather got cold. The guy has a QB rating of about 73 from November 10th on. Look it up. Last edited by lukeh; 10-06-2009 at 06:52 AM.. |

First let's get this straight, I think Aaron Rodgers is a great QB and with some protection will put up some crazy numbers. Swapping out Favre for Rodgers was not a bad thing.
However wrap your noodle around this. Favre never had a losing leason until Teddy showed up and dismantled the best O-Line in the NFL. Then he put an old man in the position of having to run for his life and watch his back every game there after. The only reason they made it to the NFC championship was because of Favre and the only reason they lost was because they couldn't protect him. FIVE years of crappy O-Lines is a pattern. Teddy is the only constant, 2 head coaches, multiple line coaches, 2 QBs, countless worthless rookie drafts and all we have to show for it is 8 sacks in the game of the decade......... I like Brett, but agree his waffling was getting old. However if he had a playoff caliber team around him he didn't have to carry with a good running game, would he have waffled? As time plays out this is turning out to be a battle of 2 egos, Teddy and Brett. At least Brett has skills, Teddy doesn't. Just look at the numbers. In retrospect Mike Sherman wasn't that bad. He only had one losing season and it was under Teddy.

Favre sucked in that Giants game just like he sucked in every big game or cold weather game the past 5 years. |

Well guess who sucked in last nights big game?
It was not Favre. |

Who sucked? The Packers O-line just like they have for the past 2 years. Rodgers did great just like last season when he finished with a top 5 QB rating in his first year as a starter. Put Favre behind that line and he'd be dead by week 7.
Favre should do well for the Vikings. All he has to do is hand the ball off, complete some short passes and hide behind a great O-line. It is the perfect situation for him and I'm sure he'll do well. Then watch what happens once they play in the cold and snow come playoff time. If the Vikings can get home field and avoid a cold road game they just may make the Super Bowl. They are toast if they have to play cold playoff games a team like the Giants. Favre has shown for 5 straight years he just can't play in that weather anymore. The numbers don't lie and neither do my eyes as I've been at every home game and seen every road game for decades. Come November and the playoffs Favre has a QB rating in the 70s and more picks than TDs. Favre is better off in the dome and the Packers are better off with Rodgers. It's a win/win situation. |

I've been at Lambeau in December and January and watched firsthand as Favre performed stunningly. He's an amazing QB

If you think Rogers was great in last nights game you should watch the game again. When that game mattered, when it was actually close and contested, Favre buried Rogers performance.
The 2 players are not even comparable IMO. I would take any of the Eagles 4 QB's over Rogers. |

I'm sure you have. And in the games you weren't there he stunk in most of them. Look at the numbers...it's all there. The 70.7 rating against the Giants. The 55.4 against the Viking in 2004. The INT punt/pass against Philly in OT. The 54.4 rating at home against Atlanta in the playoffs. The 53.5 against the Rams in the playoffs. Since those Super Bowl years he has more playoff picks than TDs. I've seen them all. I've seen the good and the bad and the bad comes late in the season and in the playoffs. Not in every game but in most of them.

3 of the Eagles QB's are multi-time pro-bowlers and the 4th is a young 2nd round draft pick that just became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 300+ yards in his first two starts.
Yes- i would take any of the Eagles 4 QB's over Rogers. All Rogers numbers came in the 4th Q when the game was already decided. His 110 rating is meaningless. |
