The Mentalist--good show
Excellent show!
I don't watch tv much anymore but I really like this show. It is a nice twist on the usual "cop show". The main character is pretty cool but I also like to see what the 2 male CBI partners are bickering about. You'll recognise the one guy from many tv commercials. PJ should be driving an old 911 but I think the Citroen fits his personality better.http://television.aol.com/show/the-mentalist/10235896/main

I like the show too. To tell you the truth, there's a whole string of similar shows. I think the "fad" of these "intellectual" shows started with stuff like CSI and NCIS, then on to shows like House and Monk, and now the Mentalist and Lie to Me (another really good one). Shows with a central really smart and/or observant person (who's got an odd personality) and a few supporting team members that just aren't quite there (Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson).
What I realized the other night, watching a long episode of house, is that the real draw isn't really the main subject in a lot of these shows (medical diagnosis, crime solving, etc...). I think the real draw is the way that the central character interacts with everyone. It's definitely the case with house, but I can see how with the other shows like the Mentalist and Lie to Me, that it still seems to fit. If you like the Mentalist, check out Lie to Me, I think you'll like that as well.

I think the 2 women on the show are so HOOOOTTT.
Robin Tunney smoking Amanda Righetti (the demure looking cop) has been in Maxim etc. She is SMOKING HOT!

Holy crap!!!
Amanda Righetti IS smokin't hot!!! I can't say the same for Robin, though. Something about her irritates me. Not the character, just something about her looks.

![]() The other one, isn't exactly hot (not bad, but can't touch the other one) They always put her in black pants to try to hide her bottom end that seems to be a bit less than the hollywood ideal. But there's something very sexy about her. ![]()

I thought Amanda was the gal from 'That 70's Show" when I first saw the show.
The look on the other chick's face is what bugs me. Don't know why but it does.

I love the Mentalist. Simon Baker is awesome. Does a really good job hiding his Aussie accent as well.

Season One was good, but reviews said it needed a spark. Season Two has the spark. The women are wearing more makeup, and the two guys are getting to each other more. Simon has been 'turned loose' a little more. Good stuff.
'Lie to Me' had the same issues Season One. Season Two IS much better. There was a story in the SF Chron about the guy who the show is modelled on. He's as much a nut as Dr. Lightman. His assistant was also taken from real life. |

Australia unions won't screen programs on TV that don't have an Australian actor. That's one of the reasons why there are so many Aussie actors floating about. Another reason is some of them are quite good like this guy.

ok ... help settle a domestic argument. Is the Asian cop on the show the same guy doing those recent TV commercials?
