Friggen So Cal Edison: Entitlement and Stimulus
So I open my most recent bill from So Cal Edison and find its 300 bucks! WTH! I notice they went back a few months and re-calculated the charges based on my baseline usage. I call Edison and ask for an explanation. Basically, whenever and however they decide, they can just change how things are billed. Of course they want to blame it on the Public Utilities Commission.
The decided that "my area", an upscale section of town, was being "given" too much baseline electrical allocation. They went on to indicate that nearly everyone in my "area" had the same adjustment. I flat out asked if the change was because I live in an expensive area. The response floored me..."well, that's not the only consideration". WTH?? In the same bill I see a flier for a couple of entitlement programs which reduce what "poor" families have to pay. Basically, the more people in a house and the less money, the less ya have to pay. I guarantee those homes of 3 families are using more electricity than me and paying less. Why? I'm all for helping people, but IMHO, this is nothing but theft from people who someone has deemed can afford it. If I want to give, I do it thru donation. Dunno, did not go over with me too well. |
Welcome to the new America...You have just received the change that has been promised to you.
In all actuality you won't miss the little extra that you are paying and think of all the poor children you are helping. Our great President has said so... |
I got the same from PG&E. Except that I was put on notice that this policy you mentioned was going to start here in a month or so. No backdating.
And this notice included the same 'app' for the income-adjusted rates. We did a lot of energy conserving mods this last year. Our total electric and propane consumption was down 50% from last year. It's almost like PG&E was pissed our bills went down. EDIT: What I spent on the 'mods' was 3 months of the difference in bill. Ask me again in a year. |
Yeah, change, that's all I'm gonna have left from my paycheck.
|
JUST WAIT TILL CAP & TRADE HITS.....I can guarntee you that you Boyz will not be running your electricity nor heat everyday all day...you will not be able to afford the Bill.
|
Dude, you live in Newbury Park, you can "afford" it. You're starting to learn what "socialism" means. I think they should do the same thing at gas stations, grocery stores, (oh wait, they already do that, it's called "Food Stamps", movie admissions, cell phones (oh wait, they already do that, it's those subsidized Obamaphones), income tax (oh wait, they already to that, it's called income tax brackets and "Earned Income Tax Credits" how's that for a misleading name of a program.
|
Our rate went up as well, although it's still only $34.82 for the 359 kWh consumed last month.
|
Our great past president has your money already....................
|
Damn, Arizona has some jobs for me. F#$%^ Kalifornia and its ******* guvmint
|
If cap and trade goes through, your electric bill will more than triple, and that's before they start charging you more so they can charge the PO people less.
In fact the Po people won't be able to afford energy at all because it will be so expensive, so they'll end up getting for free. Guess who gets to pay for it instead of them? |
Pay the bastards with checks written like this guy writes his. :)

Sounds like an invitation to a late payment charge.
