Tell me about (legally) downloading movies
I've been surfing the Web looking into movie download services. Anyone want to tell me about what they use?

Hulu.com has quite a few movies available for free. We subscribe to Netflix which has thousands of movies available for download... just usually not the newer stuff. Netflix+a Roku box is truly a wonderful service for the money.

The Redboxes and Blueboxes around town for $1 a movie is the best deal.

I've watched a few movies on my Netflix account with my XBOX 360 account. It was so easy I didn't even need my kid's help

So, Let's get a bit more specific....
Do I need to buy "special" equipment? Is there a monthly subsceiption fee? How long does it take to download a movie? In addition, I've noticed several sites don't have the latest. But they also don;t have an extensive collection of movies. What's up with that?

I use iTunes to download movies. It take about an hour for me. you can rent them as well if you don't want to buy to own them. iTunes has an extensive library.

Depends on what you are trying to do.
Watch on PC or TV? PC you need nothing. TV you need either a service thats supports direct downloads such as Tivo DVR, Sat or cable or a Multi-Media device connected between PC and TV. Or simply a cable connecting your PC's video card and the TV.

Our Netflix is the basic plan that's $8.99 per month. That give you one DVD out at a time, but unlimited streaming. That allows you to watch movies and TV shows on your computer. You can buy a Roku box for $100 that will allow for streaming to your TV.
The usual Netflix free trial is 2 weeks, but I have some cards that will give you a full month if you want to try it out. Let me know and I can PM you the numbers off of one of the cards... I have 4 of them if anyone else is interested.
