Where to sell insteresting audio equipment

So the wife and I went to a community yard sale here in Houston this weekend. It was a golf course community with homes in the $200k - $1M. And the people couldn't have been nicer BTW. These people were very friendly and were all having a great time.

So around about 10am, we stop at this one house. In the back of the garage, the guy has an amp on the garage floor hooked up to some giant Fisher speakers. He had a price tag of $30 on the amp. It was a QSC MX 1500 (meant nothing to me). So I got down and looked it over. Looked a little worse for the wear so I got up and started poking around at the other stuff. He says "hey, I'll take $20 for the amp!" I thought what the heck, I"ll take it. So I go to pick it up and damn, it weighs a ton. I later found out it cranks about 700 watts/channel!

He goes "hey let me help you with the other gear that goes with it." Turns out I bought not only the amp, but an ADS (Analog Digital Systems?) CC4 preamp, an ADS C4 cassette deck, an ADS CD4 CD player and a P4 turntable. It took three trips to get all this gear in the truck.

After a little research, I found out the cassette deck sold for $800 back in the 80's. The turntable was $500 - $800 new, the preamp was $1,000, and the CD player sold for about $800 back in the day. This is some heavy, amazing equipment. I suppose it's like having the highest quality buggy whip or washboard though. Not really worth that much, but really cool to see what high quality audio gear is like.

The QSC amp goes for anywhere from $150-$300 on eBay. The other equipment not so much.

Anyway, does anyone know of a good place to list this?

I'v done well on eBay with stuff like that. Or try audiogon.com.

Thanks, I'll look audiogon.com.

+1 on audiogon. Another plus w/ audiogon, is you can get a pretty good benchmark on what your gear is worth, then sell it on eBay for twice that :D

Yeah the QSC is run-of-the-mill Pro audio stuff, not really a home kind of amp.

The other stuff sounds cool, though!

I bought a Mesa Baron amp off Audiogon for $1200. I retubed it, used it for a couple years and sold it on eBay for $1900. Not bad. The only problem with selling audio equipment online is the risk of damage during shipping.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

When I first discovered Audiogon I was confused by their bidding system and "accidentally" bought a $2000 M&K 5.1 system. To this day it remains the finest electronics purchase I have ever made. I almost choked when I won the auction but I absolutely love them.

Audiogon is where I bought my ADCOM preamp and four amps. Think I will relist them there since I replaced them with a Denon receiver.

Bummer, looks like my Polk SDA-2s are only worth $150. Since I think they weigh 70lbs each it would cost more to ship them :(

This gear ought to clean up pretty nicely.

Here's a picture of the cassette deck "slider".
