Thanks Mark, that was really nice of you to go through that trouble for me. I myself am a smith albeit a hobby smith with no free standing shop. I will approach with caution as always. I always use low pressure (6-7000 psi) loads in all my old guns.

You did steal it, as in about 1/5 of what it is worth at auction, they are great guns and were not brought into the USA in large numbers, one sold at the last GunRunnerAuction for over $1600 and was not a Darne but a knock off using the same action built in France.

The only other one I have seen in person was $3800. Not that it would sell for that much in this market, these days. This one is a keeper anyway. Oh I forgot to mention that when I went to the guys house to pick it up later, he gave me the original leg O mutton case for it!
