Mike Tyson
Recently on Oprah.
Regardless of what you do or don't think about the guy his pain here is heart wrenching. <div><object width="576" height="358" allowFullScreen="true"><param name="movie" value="http://d.yimg.com/m/up/ypp/tv/player.swf"></param><param name="flashVars" value="vid=16048075&repeat=0&shareUrl=http%3A//tv.yahoo.com/the-oprah-winfrey-show/show/32704/videos/16048075"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed width="576" height="358" allowFullScreen="true" src="http://d.yimg.com/m/up/ypp/tv/player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="vid=16048075&repeat=0&shareUrl=http%3A//tv.yahoo.com/the-oprah-winfrey-show/show/32704/videos/16048075"></embed></object><br /><a href="http://tv.yahoo.com/the-oprah-winfrey-show/show/32704/videos/16048075">Mike Tyson Tells Oprah About His Daughter's Death</a> @ <a href="http://tv.yahoo.com">Y! TV</a></div> |
He had a horrendous childhood and was taken under wing by , I can't remember the trainers name, maybe Guss something. He climbed thru the ranks and became the most feared fighter in the world. After the man died he went down hill. No direction, well Don Kings, (nuff said). I feel for him.

He says he earned $300 million. Now..............not so much.
|
I can't imagine losing one of my children, by accident or naturally.
I think that most Daddy's would feel the same way as Mike. He obviously loved her very much. You can almost feel lump in his throat when he starts talking about her, Sad story, indeed. |
Had Cus D'Amato lived longer Mike Tyson would have had an entirely different life.

He's a criminal...

And your point is??? |
He's no worse than some of the thugs that are on national TV playing our nation's favorite pastimes that pay the right people, say a tearful apology in a carefully crafted press conference and go about their daily lives. Had he played football or basketball a blind eye would have been turned. Since he was a boxer, a sport that is looked down on by so many as brutal and barbaric, he is demonized. He was on the right path with Cus, had been straightened out. His downward spiral began after Cus' death by people looking to take advantage of him and the situation, and they did a fine job. He made some mistakes, got into situations he shouldn't have, but did his time. Can't say that for some other athletes... Mentally disadvantaged, yeah probably. I feel sorry for the way his life unfolded.
|
Well said Dean. Not to mention the white collar criminal trash that have every advantage in the world but still FUCH others because of greed.
|
No matter what his history, no one deserves the pain of a child's accidental death.
|
Read somewhere he owed $5M in back taxes to Ohio after they overturned his residency claim(or was it MrT?). Easy come, easy go.
|
Obviously MT is not an educated man. He (like all of us) has made some big mistakes. That said losing a child is unimaginable. Folks who choose to not have kids cannot comprehend the damage. I feel for the guy and respect him for going on air to talk (using a 3rd grade vocabulary) about the loss. Bless that man.

Once upon a time there lived a punk criminal who was destined for prison.
A mentor took the punk under his wing and taught him how to box. The punk criminal learned how to box very well and became a rich and famous punk criminal. Unfortunately he didn't learn some morals and what it takes to be a man instead of just boxing. His boxing career ended as he reverted back to his natural state, a punk criminal. End of story. His pain is obvious. His reaction is predictable. Deep down he's looking for someone to blame and unleash his violent nature on them. He can't change his stripes. Yes he is fighting it but it's still there. He is a violent animal. BTW, I'm a boxer too, have been for 35 years. Strictly amateur stuff, never got serial about it. Just recreation. I'm amazed how many punks I've seen over the years who thought that boxing was the answer to all their problems. It isn't. |
Remember when Ed "Too Tall" Jones thought he would be a boxer after the NFL? I remember an interview with him and was asked about the boxing gig. He said he never seen so many scum bags in his life as there were in boxing.
