Hating this weather pattern in OK

It's been misty foggy cold and rainy for the last frigging week. Getting pretty damn old. Going to work highway signs in Tulsa and McAlister today. Hope we don't get the pickup stuck...

Rant off...

Same here in Missouri. Feels like I am once again living in Germany!

GH85Carrera 10-15-2009 07:45 AM

Yea, we make our living with aerial photography. With 200 to 300 ft ceilings we have been grounded for a long time. We have a ton of flying to get done when it finally clears.

porsche4life 10-15-2009 07:47 AM

From the looks of this I bet it gets ugly this summer...

lukeh 10-15-2009 08:10 AM

Here in Wisconsin it has been 40's and rainy for what seems like weeks now. Lows at night have even been in the high 20s. The average high should be 60 but we've been lucky to get to 50. My guess is this has to be a record for the coldest October. Some areas even had snow on the ground.

TSNAPCRACKLEPOP 10-15-2009 08:16 AM

same in Kansas City. 2-300 feet, cool, occasional mist. some relief friday, nice weekend in forecast.

NICKG 10-15-2009 08:17 AM

well be glad...it is freeking snowing here in nj....and the forcast calls for sleet/snow with accumulation for tonight/tomorrow

Danny_Ocean 10-15-2009 08:23 AM

Why do you guys in the Northern states always complain about the weather? YOU LIVE IN THE FROZEN NORTH! It would be like us Southerners complaining about the women here wearing too little clothing when it gets hot...

MOVE ALREADY!!!

TSNAPCRACKLEPOP 10-15-2009 08:30 AM

if we moved there, we would have to take your scantily clad women!

Wow - If this thread isn't a cry-out for PARF to return to PPOT, I don't know what is.

I wish it would get cold and rainy here. Still in bad need of rain and the heat index at noon was 109. Last week the heat index was over 110 several days in a row. Fortunately a front is due in tonight which sill lower temps back to what should be high 70's low 80's range and drive the humidity down.

red-beard 10-15-2009 11:24 AM

Record high and record high humidity. We may have a heat advisory. In October!

porsche4life 10-15-2009 12:06 PM

Winter... Sorry I was focusing on helping the driver navigate traffic.

I think you guys gripeing about the weather should join me in Crystal Falls, MI for deer hunting next month. Find Green Bay, WI on a map, then start looking north.

2 years ago, we got 18 inches of snow overnight. When we got up in the morning it was 4 degrees, and by afternoon it had reached a balmy 12. Froze my a55 off.

porsche4life 10-15-2009 12:42 PM

Yes but you were in an area that supposed to be cold. It's supposed to be warm and sunny here this time of year...

porsche4life 10-15-2009 02:01 PM

Which is exactly why I am here instead of there...

m21sniper 10-15-2009 04:52 PM

Of all the places i've been Oklahoma was definitely the king of suck.

porsche4life 10-15-2009 05:27 PM

Ahh yes and you were at Ft Sill. The weather down there sucks way worse.... That is consistently the hottest part of the state. Guess it's all the hot air the army boys are full of....

imcarthur 10-15-2009 05:30 PM

Just make sure that it is nicer next week, please. I'll be in OKC for 2 days visiting dealers (with a possible quick in/out of Tulsa). I chose the southeast & central south territory for the weather y'know, so I expect you to produce. ;) Certainly hasn't been for the booming business atmosphere as of late . . .

Ian

porsche4life 10-15-2009 06:25 PM

Bring a jacket...

What days you be in town? Hey business should be better here than most of the country...

That is why it is so windy in the panhandle of Texas.

Alternatively, do you know why it is so windy in New Mexico?

Because Texas sucks.

My good friend Ron told that one to the Chief of the Surgery Dept during our first rotation with him 3rd year. He was from Texas it turns out. It was freakin' hilarious.

Never been to Oklahoma, but I am fairly certain that every state has something to offer.

A lot of cold and rainy in Oregon where I went to college, but had to ride my bicycle in the rain very few times, often when it had been raining, rarely actual rain falling. In the snow only a few times in 4 years.

porsche4life 10-15-2009 10:04 PM

Most of the year the weather in OK is pretty nice... We just have these ocasional spells that its crappy

Oh and its windy in OK because Kansas sucks and Texas blows. :D

DARISC 10-15-2009 10:14 PM
