handicap parking is my thing.

i saw this lady get out of her MB in her 4 inch heels and stoll into the store. i had to say something. didnt do any good. she had one of those mirror tags.

i saw a beat up pickup truck parked in a HC spot. it had construction tools and ladders, of course the tag on the mirror.

my thought is they should get rid of the mirror tags and issue plates only. if you have a HC person with you, drop them off at the door then park in a regular spot.

i saw this van with a HC tag pull in and park in the HC spot, even though there were empty regular spots closer to the door. i guess it is just the mentality. if it was me, i would take the regular spot and save the HC spot for someone else when the prking lot gets full. now any other HC peopl have to park somewhere else. and what makes it worse is the person works there and they will be there all day!

we went to this restaurant a while back. the parking lot was very small but some Dbag from ohio had to take 2 spots. so i pulled it in nice an tight along side him. he was madd at ME when he came out. old retired couple, he just did not get the picture. i should have parked behind him.

thanks, now i am getting all worked up over nothing.

My wife has MS and she would not even consider getting the tag. Mostly because you cant visually see anything wrong with her. She doesnt want people thinking that way of her. I wouldn't dream of saying something.

This thread reminded me of this video. This guy turns the other cheek till he finally has to end the guy's crap. Read somewhere he is a black belt in a few of the martial arts.

That's my opinion. People like that are banking on being able to bully everyone around - until they meet someone that snaps. Think bodybuilder on roid rage ...

How would you deal with this guy?

Burnin' oil 10-22-2009 05:07 PM

I was at a really busy out-of-town gas station this summer. I waited for five minutes for a Dawson's Creek couple to finish pumping their gas, stroll into the mini-mart, buy some junk, stroll back to their car, etc. In the meantime, a tunnel rammed '70 Camaro entered the station opposite from me just as the kids pulled away. As I started forward, he gunned it and took my spot. I pulled up as close to his bumper as I could and got out. As polite as could be I told him that I had been waiting for five minutes for the pump. His response was "so." I told him I thought it was kind of rude and he said "what do you want to do about it?" I leaned in close and said something pretty vile and as he brought his hands up, in what appeared to be an aggresive manner, I punched him in the throat and he dropped to his knees making choking sounds. Some of the people watching clapped. I gave my card to the manager and left, with the jerk still on his knees.

Ot at least, that's how I remember it going down.

That gentleman needs to enjoy the warmth of a bullet to the head.

I hope that someone called the police and they were able to see the video.

In Texas, he'd be shot dead before the second swing.

lm6y 10-22-2009 07:27 PM

It depends on the situation.

The guy with the crow bar? I would have parked on his chest without any hesitation. He was trying to attack me with a deadly weapon, and I couldn't escape. He left me no choice.

I confronted a man with a .357 magnum with a 6 inch barrel pointed at his wife in a parking lot, and intentionally made him turn his attention to me long enough for her to escape. I know it was a .357 with a 6 inch barrel, because I got a really good look at it when he turned it on me. I honestly thought I was going to die that day. Turns out he was mentally Ill, and hadn't taken his medication. He was about 6 ft 7 and at LEAST 285. It turned into a HUGE fiasco. I thought my Father was going to beat me to death (he was Chief of Police at that time). He said it was the stupidest thing he's ever seen. Then one of the older officers reminded Dad of some of the similar stuff he'd done, and all was understood. I guess it's no wonder I've been diagnosed as Passively Suicidal. I just call it not giving a damn.

The cop shooting swimsuit man? Manslaughter. He needs to be in prison. Too many people with badges have a God complex nowadays.

Flashing a badge in my face if I'm not breaking the law doesn't impress me either. Dad was a cop for 20 years, I know how it works.

If someone is trying to harm a child, or woman, it's game on. No questions asked.

If everyone waits for Karma to take over, a lot of innocent people are going to get hurt. Punks won't pick on the strong, or anyone willing to fight. There are too many targets that won't offer any resistance. I guess it's O.K. to say "Karma will get them" while they are harrassing one of your loved ones? The reason things are like they are today is because no one wants to get involved, or are to scared to get involved.

In the old days, if you beat your kid, or your wife, a few guys "stopped by" to "straighten you out". They didn't "mind their own business". If you really messed up a kid, or heaven forbid, molested a child. A larger group of guys came to your home at night and took you "for a ride". Then you usually weren't seen for a few days, and then you promptly move away. Is it vigilante justice? maybe. But it worked, and things were a HELL of a lot safer back then.

I carry a gun for a reason. It would be absolutely 100% legal to shoot that guy if he attacked your car like that, because ANY sane person would be in absolute fear for their life.

Shot dead as soon as he swung at the driver's window.

I agree whole heartedly. the time i saw a man beating a young girl i walked up to him , i turned him around and landed a punch so hard he actually spun around before hitting the ground.then he got up spitting blood and came towards me so i grabbed him by his shirt and threw him head first into the side of a pickup truck and when he bounced off i grabbed him and took him down and pinned him to the ground. after that he was totally compliant. when the cops came they tolled me they would've done the same thing.

The nice thing about Texas is it doesn't have to be your car you're protecting. You can use deadly force to protect the guy in the car next to you.

That's a different situation. Risking physical violence over a parking space? I try to avoid that. If there is someone who can't defend themselves being harmed? I've stepped in before and would again.

Gotta pick your battles wisely...
