Miami Vice-LOL What was I thinking?

I found a new channel on TV airing old Miami Vice epesodes. God, are they bad or what, no, they suck. I used to love that show in the 80's, but now when I see them, they are so bad, I watch because I laugh. The acting is terrible and the themes are even worse, but having lived in Miami, I like to see the old city. Oh well, just a rant.

I watched an entire Magnum PI show the other night. SO cheesy. But brought back memories.

Cool. I love watching those shows.

A channel with 70's and 80's tv shows would be on my custom built cable setup, if they actually let you pick.

If you think about it, these shows take most of us back to times when we were growing up or some other event big in our lives.

I have never seen an episode of Miami Vice but I wanted to watch it to see the S&W Model 645, since my father recently gave me that pistol. I just can't bring myself to sit through the show!

Crime Story was another great show. I think we discussed it here before but that's ok.

acting aside, i still like watching MV classic.
The music, cars, athmosphere

CSI Miami just doesn't do it like MV did.

Love it or hate it, Miami Vice single-handedly resurrected Miami (South Beach specifically) from the dead. South Beach was in decay in the early 80's. It began to blossom after catching on again during the show. The rest, as they say, is history. Then again, South Beach has been sliding of late. We need another show!

If you look at the tailights in the first posted clip of the white countach, the same scene is shot with 2 different countachs. One with the original euro rear lights and the other with the american cover plate over them. If you pay attention to this as you watch the car chase it keeps changing. How could they not realize something like that when they were filming it? Or I just know too much about countachs, one of the two I guess.

The chase one is a kit car, the white ferrari Tess used for stunt work was really a Pantera

I used to have a 645, but that's not what Don Johnson has in Miami Vice.

It's an old Bren Ten that Crockett uses:

I think its time to start looking for a Dodge Diplomat - apparently, they are just as fast and agile as a Testarossa.
