Transfer iPod to iTunes
My hard drive crapped out last week. Long story short, I got a new one going lucky I had most of my important stuff backed up....
But how do I get music off my iPod to my iTunes library ? |
I think you'll need third party software like iDump or the like.

Exact same thing just happened to me. Did you happen to have a 80Gb Toshiba hard drive by any chance? Anyway, I found a program that does it, but costs $29...

You can do it for free, I had to recover my library from my iPod to a new computer. You need to "Enable Disk Use" in iTunes when you are looking at your device while connected to your computer. You can then drag all your music into a self-created folder on the computer, at least that's the way I did it. Then, in ITunes, just drag all the music directly into your library there. I can't remember why I needed to do it this way, but after some research this is what I came up with at that time. I think it was a permissions issue or something on the new computer. Anyhow, this is how I did it. Good luck! Pretty sure a Google search would give you some clear direction as well.

Just happened to me. Apple actually (on the QT) recommended CopyTrans. Worked great!
