Lighten up, Dennis....the only comment made in jest was lendaddy. But there is some truth in his humor. Thus far I've only seen you talk about sales in RE/IT and question the salary at Pizza Hut . Do you have ANY experience in food service industry? Ever waited tables or worked as a dishwasher? Cooked at a restaurant? Ever manged younger, low wage employees? Better learn because when a minimum wage employee busboy/dishwasher doesn't show up for a busy saturday night shift and doesn't bother to call, you'll have to step in. There's a lot more to it at the management level than working a cash register. Without some prior FS experience, even if it was a HS job at a fast food place, I don't think you'll be offered a mid-management level job right off the bat.
My wife runs a restaurant/pub. Its a lot more complicated than you might think at the management/owner level.
And Byron is right...in many restauramts, bartenders can make more than the asst managers. But do you have what it takes to be a professional mixologist. I know of one who made $70K+ year before last in a small pub with an elite clientele in the south east.. But you have to have the personality and skill to do that
That being said, an asst mgr trainess probably starts at $24-30K...GM probably is in the $50-65K range depending on locaction. Hours are brutal...you might have to come in the a.m. to open, oversee lunch crowd, take an afternoon break and come back at night to close. After the last customer is gone there typically is 1-2 hours of work before you go home. Figure 60+ hours per week, 5-6 days per week.e
