Every Porsche enthusiast must see this
OK, I'm a newbie here and maybe everyone has already seen this but holy s...!
Turn up the volume on your computer real loud and take a firm grip of your seat: YouTube - 911 turbo porsche rally bit of a surprise at the end after hitting the rev limiter in 5th!! Another one to enjoy the sounds of the Boxer 6: YouTube - Best of Porsche Enjoyable sunday afternoon viewing! |
Very cool, thanks for sharing.. Welcome to the board...

Rally drivers are insane.

I don't think the first one is a Turbo, if it is I wish mine were that responsive.

Sure sounds like it's under boost. Here's one of my fav's.....
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BN-9C27qzTw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BN-9C27qzTw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> |
There was comment about that in the further down on the page:
"This is a 1991 964 Carrera RS with turbo body-kit. It's the standard 3.6L becouse it doesn't sound like the 3.8L and that is also very rare. There is no turbo on this car ,the whine is from the race transmission. If I remember corectly ,this is a group B rally car ,so it has around 400bhp" The highlight of the second video comes at 5:00 when the orange car does a standing start at night. he starts a few hundred yards away (car revs like a 2-stroke) and he's doing about 1-90 by the time he goes by the camera. sent shivers up my spine! |

Sorry, couldn't resist. I agree, some of the spectators are crazier than the drivers. If I were a driver, those spectators would scare the ***** out of me. |
That looks just like my commute to worK. :)
