What's the Best Restaurant You've Ever Been To?
Discussion with my FIL ( A big foodie).
What is the best place you have ever dined? Berns (or Burns) in Tampa, FL (You have to tend to the herb garden for 2yrs before you can apply to be a waiter, and you pick the fish out of the tank that they prepare for you). Bones (Buckhead/Dunwoody--Atlanta, GA) You can order ANY game steak. Commander's Palace (New Orleans) Post yours! Hopefully some FL places get mentioned so that I can take the wife to them.

Mine was priabaly Forneau's Oven in SF years ago. Or Lusco's in Greenwood, MS. Or Tavern on the Green in NY.

Wow! Forneau's Oven in SF. Thought I was one of the few that always raved about that place.
The Giggling Condom In Bangkok. Bill and Rosa's Steakhouse in D'Hanis, Texas. Matt's Bar and Grill, Manhattan. Rue 58, Manhattan. Uncle Bills' Pancake House, Manhattan Beach, California. Thunderbirds Casino and Grill, Las Vegas. Uncle Stavros' Sunset Grill, Santorini, Greece. |

Plenty of great places to eat in Philly.
One of my favorites is Rose Tattoo in the Art Museum section of town.

No CHIT...IIRC their wine list was the size of a Sears Roebuck Catalog...from their website Bern’s founder, Bern Laxer, traveled the globe extensively exploring, researching and tasting wines that he could bring back and introduce to his guests back home. In time, the cellar grew to be one of the most respected and largest collections in the world. Today, our cellar contains more than 6,800 different selections with more than half a million bottles. Bern’s Wine Cellar is the perennial recipient of the Wine Spectator Grand Award, the magazine’s highest honor bestowed upon restaurants that display an uncompromising and passionate commitment to quality. According to Wine Spectator, “these lists show serious depth of mature vintages, outstanding breadth in their vertical offerings, excellent harmony with the menu, superior organization and presentation, and 1,250 or more selections.” Whether you are an oenophile or a novice, Bern’s Wine Cellar will truly impress you -- with more than 6,800 unique wine labels, 5,500 red wines, 1,000 white wines and more than 200 sparkling wines. In addition, we feature about 300 Medeiras, Ports and Sherries by the glass, as well as 200 table wines served by the glass with vintages to 1973. Because of the breadth of our wine collection, we update our wine list four times a year and currently we are unable to offer our list online

1st would go to Casa Marqués in Camprodon, Spain. Only one of the wait staff spoke broken English and suggested the set menu for simplicity. What followed was seven courses of Catalonian heaven.
Second place would be Bacchanalia in Atlanta. |
