Roll-on truck bed liners??

Anyone use them? Stuff like Herculiner, etc...

Opinions, problems, best practices, etc...

TIA

I did Linex and it's been very sturdy, no scrapes in the metal at all and I've thrown some pretty nasty stuff in there.

Keep it off your hootus, k.

I got the Line-x stuff, which isn't roll-on. I beat the hell out of the stuff doing construction/remodeling work. The only thing that has gotten to it was when a forklift operator pushing a pallet into the side of the wheel well, scraping the Line-X off the bed. Too bad the shop that sprayed the liner went out of business. There goes my lifetime warranty.

My uneducated opinion is you should use a two-part product--something that has a base and activator. I don't think one-part systems are going to last.

Pony up and get Line X

I thought I would save some bucks and use Herculiner on my F250 PSD...

I applied the coating per Herculiners instructions, on a week old truck....

Its not as thick as Line X, in my case isn't adhered well..

Get the liner professionally done..

I've used the one-part stuff on some non-critical stuff. You have to mix it well and keep it well-mixed.

I was thinking of using some on the floor of my track car.

Okay, so once in college I was working at Sbarro and chopping some jalapenos... I finished up and went to the bathroom. Yes, I washed my hands before returning to work, but that sequence is unimportant here. About ten minutes later my "hootus" was burning. I should have washed my hands before going to the bathroom too...

Good stuff

If you are going to put it in the bed go with linex. I use the two part liner and spray it on($12 will get a shots gun). When I spray the inside of the cars it really cuts down the noise and heat transfer. It will really need to be prepped right. Generally I have sand blasted these surfaces but if you go at it with 180 grit, clean it real good and put some epoxy primer down for adhesion then two part liner and you'll have a great looking and lasting job.

I plan to use it just like this, in an interior. It's not a race car, but a rat rod type project that I want to keep the interior as simple as possible.

Did you use linex here or something else?

The LineX is great I have it in my pickup bed, very happy with it. It's very tough.

I tried the duplicolor one part on a drift boat trailer. It will not hold up to high speed impact from rocks, the fenders are sandblasted. I think the hot 2 part stuff is the way to go. I would not recommend the 1 part coatings.

Are you rat rodding the volvo? You do really like to roll paint dont you. I can't wait to see your car. Please don't roll the final coat over that nicely sprayed primer.

I'm just sayin...

Let's call it a practical build-up with some hot rod touches =)

The bedliner is for the interior. Just the floors. =)

+1 for linex

That stuff gets very hot in the summer.

The warranty is good at any linex dealer in the country.
