Market research,

This is some text I am working on for my website. It is not really in much order, and will have images with it, picture of a broken foot, or the perfect trans met amp Al has, or even my ugly mug. Have picture in phone book ad already. Is the picture of the half foot too much, good idea to have a face with the name, too much information, that sort of thing, would like any comments

Thanks in advance
wow, that is longer than I realized
---

It is not normal for your feet and legs to hurt. Trouble with your feet can often lead to other problems of the lower extremities, such as the knee, hip and back. I have always thought it better to deal with a small problem early than a big problem late, a philosophy that serves my patients well. I tell my diabetic patients all the time, “I would rather see you in the office Saturday morning than at the hospital Sunday night.” You only have the one set of feet, if you are going to walk, go dancing, even go roller skating, you are going to need them working right.I have had people go dancing after I have given them verbal and written instructions to the contrary

In one of my first lectures in Podiatry school the instructor said, “If you want to know what is wrong with your patients, ask them and they will tell you.” I thought, “Obviously,” and sort of blurted this out. He said it might seem obvious now, but after you have been in practice a few years, you may question how obvious it really is. This is a true story, and has proven to be true.

The pain from gout, bone spurs, bunions, plantar warts and ingrown nails all can be relieved by simple measures on an initial visit. I am fortunate in my choice of careers in that there are many problems people have with their feet that can be treated in the office and provide immediate relief; this is quite gratifying to a physician. I am often asked, “What made you want to be a foot doctor?” I figured that as you get older, you have problems with your eyes, your teeth and with your feet. The idea of doing surgery on someone’s eye has always bothered me since I saw a scary movie as a kid where an eyeball gets cut open, still makes me shudder a bit when I think about it. Nobody likes to go to the dentist. Don’t get me wrong, I like mine and he does a great job for me, it just seems like people are never happy to see the dentist. Every single day someone tells me how glad they are they came to see me.This, while true, is a bit over the topin places

If a complaint does not respond adequately to conservative treatment, I am Board Certified by the ABPS in foot surgery. I am experienced in limb salvage procedures on diabetics with profound vascular problems, skills I gained in the years after my residency at the Southwest Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine in Conroe, TX. Trauma, elective and limb salvage surgery are necessary services I provide. Having the ability to do complicated surgeries is important, but even more important is knowing when to not do surgery. People come to me for help with problems or pain. If I can resolve the issue without surgery, it eliminates the possibility of a post-operative complication. In many cases, the best surgery is the one you don’t have done.

From children to the elderly, I put my patients at ease, and with my gentle technique for injections, practically every day I hear, “I thought that would be worse than that, I wish I had come in sooner.”

Do you have cramps in your feet or legs, tingling, burning in your feet? Have you had bypass surgery, either for your heart or to improve blood flow to your legs. Are you on kidney dialysis or diabetic, or do you have diabetics in your family? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you are at increased risk for amputation. I will assess you, and if your examination and history indicates, we can do non-invasive vascular examination in the office to identify problems with circulation. If needed, we can arrange consultation with physicians to intervene in cases of vascular compromise.

Oh and if you or a loved one happens to be diabetic, it is important to see a foot and eye doctor regularly. Additionally, at least one healthcare provider should explain Diabetes and the risk factors associated with it at length.

When was the last time you went to a doctor, they talked to you about your complaint, explained to you, in plain English, what was wrong with you and what you can do about it? I don’t know when the last time was, but I can tell you when the next time will be.This part is a bit much, sounds too much like something Billy Mays or that Shamwow guy would say to me, though my office manager said it was not bad

As far as the last "Billy Mays" language, I see no problem and like it...so much so that I think it should be your initial statement to set the tone for your "style" of medicine. IOW you view your patients as real people rather than just cattle you're herding thru the chute. I know my parents shopped around for neurologists for my dad and are finally pleased with one the found that was more expensive yet not in an as ornate office for the simple reason that he spent time discussing dad's problems, was not condescending and answered all their questions directly and in plain engish. They never feel like they are being rushed out so he can see someone else.

I don't know your target demographic but they might be intimidated by what appears to them to be a long read. Perhaps set up as a FAQ format? There is a lot of info about various other conditions that affect foot health (diabetes, bypass, etc...Perhaps if they could scan down FAQ's on each individual related condition they would go to that topic as it affects them.

Content wise it seems excellent...conveys you view your patients as people you want to help identify and solve problems. Suggests you look at the entire health situation rather than just your specialty.Liked the part about Saturday morning vs Sunday nite.

I like it too and it inspires confidence. Matter of fact, I'm only an hour or so away and there's not much choice up here in GV. I may well get in touch. I really had no idea about knee, hip and back problems from feet... Guess I just never thought of it but it makes sense. I bet a lot of folk never think of it...

Was gone a week, busy with real life, oops

This is just part of the text I am thinking about, probably would not use all of it. What about photos, probably should not go gory, headshot perhaps. I would want to know what they looked like.
