Anyone in London, UK November 1-7?
Going for one of my feature films. Don't know yet where I'll be staying. We're filming at Shepperton and Longcross Studios southwest of London about 40 miles. I believe I'll be staying in a hotel in downtown London. Anyone want to get together for drinks/dinner one night?

I'm getting in Sunday morning about 11:30AM and am staying at the Marleybone Hotel in the West End of London. Anyone up for drinks or eats while I'm there? Open Sunday-Friday Night. I don't mind taking "The Tube" to get somewhere to meet.

Michel (MFAAF) and I got together for dinner and drinks tonight. Forgot the camera. Great time and talk. It turns out that he grew up about 200 yards from the house in Oxford that I lived in for a year when I was 14 years old. His son Jack (7) is a big fan of the Pirates of the Carribbean movies so I sent Michel a PDF with a bunch of "behind the scenes" photos of Pirates 2&3.
I've met dozens of Pelican around the world, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Germany, Czech, Hungary, Mexico, Canada, and about 15 states in the USA. I've had a great time with everyone. In fact, one of my now best friends is a Pelican whom I met here who lives about 1/2 mile from me. So for all of you who choose to call someone "Stupid, moron, idiot, whatever" think about it. Me personally, I wouldn't type something here that I wouldn't say to their face; others here, not so. Thanks again Michel, I look forward to seeing you again in a few months when I come back to the UK. I think I'm going to be here 3 or 4 times in the next 12 months.

Hugh,
It was great to meet you and enjoy such a good evening. As Hugh says what we found out is that the world is quite a small place, the house where he stayed in Oxford is very close and I used to cycle past every day on my way to school. Thanks also for the images.. J will be over the moon to see those...as was I, it looks like you have a fantastic job and get to see and do some seriously fun things! Hope the rest of your trip is a success and look forward to meeting up with you soon. +1 on calling people various names....it would be tough to meet up with somebody you only know via a BBS if that was part of their repertoire.
