Therapy Dog - Baxter - RIP
Of all the things that dogs do for us lowly humans, being a therapy dog must surely be one of their highest callings. Baxter was a therapy dog for 19 years. He died October 16th. This video was shot toward the end of his life when he could no longer walk, but was still able to comfort those who are crossing over.

RIP Baxter.
I was in an assisted living facility today and several folks had brought doggies dressed up for Halloween in to visit with the residents. The smiles on the faces were proof to me that the little things make life bearable at the end.

Jesus--absolutely couldn't not get past about 2 minutes without tearing up.
Fantastic idea and I'll bet the infirm older folks could really relate to the infirm older dog--someone they could actually feel sorrier for than themselves.

Very cool and inspiring! We have a Golden who would be a perfect therapy dog. My daughter will pursue this as her schedule permits. I can't think of a better purpose for a wonderful dog than to bring peace and happiness to others who desperately need it!
