Lefty watch for a righty - love it!

I have always hated the watch crown digging into my hand or snagging on things. Unprotected watch crowns are most annoying. I've even broken a crown off.

So this Christmas I asked for another watch and the wifey let me pick it out. I just wanted a cheaper everyday watch so I searched Overstock for a chrono.

Ended up with an Invicta lefty and it's the best thing I've done with a watch. I don't know why I waited this long or why this isn't the norm. Seems silly that one couldn't remove one's watch to adjust if needed.

No more crown digging into the back of my wrist.

Only problem I have with this one is it doesn't have tenth of a second dial. But I have another Invicta that does so I'll live with it.

InvictaShark - About Us

For those of you wanting a daily Invicta deal....I get the daily "Sharkbite" that has something from Diamond Shark, Chrono Shark and Invicta Shark. Every now and then you'll see something nice, but then again it might be a $14,600 Panerai Ferrari for $5495 (snicker, snicker)

Good for you. Ambidextrous in pool is a good skill to acquire. I've also heard that being a lefty, playing lefty, can be an advantage in pool. It's a left brain/right brain thing.

Watches...my current favorite is also a cheapy. I did switch to a metal band tho...

(edit) I'd rather spend a grand on a custom pool cue than a wristwatch.

I get the Invicta Shark emails too... Some days are awefully tempting....

Not to turn this into a nun thread, but when was in grade school they still rapped our knuckles with the edge of the ruler... "And woe betide unto you" if they got out the yardstick...

Nice watch btw!

many watches can have the dial tuned upside down so they're "converted" into lefty (not factory conversion but good enough)

I was thinking of a plain watch with no functions. More like a vintage watch.
You're right if there is anything in there won't look/work ok.

Smart of you. I used to think chrono dials were cool...but then I realized that unless I was at the track, the only watch features I actually use were time and day/date. Bought a cheap digital Timex stopwatch for days at the track.

Pool cue for a grand? Damn. Just another expensive hobby not yet explored.

Great. I think I'm gonna have to buy that automatic Invicta on InvictaShark today. Probably give it to my pops.

As for grade school punishments. In Laos the students use to line up before going into the class room. The teacher walks the line while the students showed their finger nails. If the nails were too long or had dirt under then you would hold your hands out, palm up, fingers together... Then get ready to wince as a ruler came down on you finger tips.

Anyhow, I'll probably never buy another righty watch for my left wrist.

I'm not a pool player, and I'm not a golfer. I do alittle of both, but I always felt I could hang in their with my buddies when using a decent bar cue or $300 clubs.... Them with a fancy cue or $1000 clubs and $400 driver. My 3 iron gets me off the tee box just fine

A grand is on the low end of the scale for a custom cue these days...Black Boar cues, a top line custom, start at around $20,000 and go up from there.

Of course, then you need a Custom case to carry your sticks in...

Don't challenge this hearing impaired kid from South Dakota in pool. He now shoots with a cheap $350 Cuetec cue...of course, Cuetec pays him six figures per year to use one. Here's a great pic of perfect pre shot "set" form...note the angle of the elbow to lower arm. Shane Van Boening...member of the winning USA Mosconi cup team.

You're right in a way...it's the indian, not the arrow...but then, a lot of the top level "indians" play with some very expensive arrows.

I shoot with a "Josey" cue in the $1,000 range. I like it's stiff hit with good feedback. To stay on topic...I like this cue...a lot. I wouldn't swap it for a Rolex.

Yep, I gave up on the chrono dials as I realized I never used the functions. This is the main reason I didn't buy the speedmaster that I really like... now I started collecting accutron bulova with nothing but time.
