Yas Marina Circuit.....NOT a spoiler....

The new yas marina cirquit in abu dhabi is unbelievably awesome, especially when you consider the time spent to put it together.....
I never had any intention to go to the UAE ever......but damn, what a badass track, big and technical....can't have many elevation changes in the desert, so its nothing like spa.....but damn :)

Anyone else impressed with it?

Very glitzy. Pit out is interesting, as well. But I found it to be a bit distracting with the 57 alternate circuit layouts criss-crossing the F1 track.

Was this complex constructed with slave labor-like practices employed in many other projects in the region? It's a bit easier to make something mega-impressive when you don't really have to pay for labor.

I totally agree about the man labor to build it, as far as the other track options I don't think it would be an on track issue at eye level.......
We all know how they build things over there, the designer (forget his name at the moment) really took advantage of the space, and seems to be an excellent spectator track as well.
We'll see how it holds up after a big sandstorm or two :D
I also have to mention they did something right as far as the actual track surface, I can't count the times I saw where the track would start to fall apart in the middle of a race from it being a new surface....

Oh.....and the pit exit could've been better, I see some safetly issues with the tunnel imo, they could've at least made it wider and not so tight of a turn.....

It is a good track. Some over-taking spots. Some fast straights. Twisties. All in all a good job. I noticed some back ends squiggling in the pit exit. An accident there would be interesting.

Great track. I think it has aspects of it all. It will eventually be a driver favorite like Catalunya, Silverstone or Suzuka. It has that amazing straight away, great technical parts, fantastic spectator areas and can run well at night.

The engineering compromises the teams have to deal with are great. Less downforce for that long straight away hurts elsewhere on the track.

I hope it becomes a permanent fixture in F1.

Hopefully we can just talk about the track and not the politics.

Only 50,000 people in the grandstands. I'm sure the camel races draw more.

Pit out thru a tunnel was odd. What if someone spins and stalls?

Sorry.

It only holds 50,000, heard it sold out, but I saw a lot of empty seats on TV. Some folks probably stayed on the yacht.

I think it's a great track, night racing is cool, way better than Singapore.

HSAT, it looks like it might become more of an "event" than a race.

Bernie will hold every other track owner for extortion to upgrade, using this as the example.
