V

Scifi is running the old "V" before the new "V" comes out.

Man is it bad. Much worse than the original Battlestar Galactica.

But it's like a traffic accident, I can't look away.

Geez, can't anyone come up with an original idea?

Z-man 11-01-2009 01:28 PM

As a kid, I found the original "V" to be entertaining for a bit.... hoping the new "V" will keep my attention longer.

Something I am looking forward to in the realm of scifi programming is the new "Prisoner" series starting on Nov 15 on AMC. That looks a bit promising. I always thought the original "Prisoner" was quite underrated.

On another note, I picked up Battlestar Galactica - The Plan on BD this week. Finally some new BSG programming to sink my teeth into!

Don't spoil it for us, but give it a thumbs up or down.

V has already had a 2 week shooting hiatus, to regroup.
Word on the street in Vancouver is that V is going to shut down production.
Soon.

That good?

pmajka 11-02-2009 05:35 AM

Need Clarification... i have "V The Series" which was the end.
So was there a miniseries followed by season 1, followed by the season 2 end?

varmint 11-02-2009 05:44 AM

i think the original V was my first experience in discriminating the difference between fun-good and fun-stupid.

i'll watch. but the first hint i see of it getting all preachy and up it's own ass, battlestar galactica, i'm gone.

Nostril Cheese 11-02-2009 06:13 AM

I think i remember that alien chick biting the head off a bird in one episode. Kinda freaked me out as a kid.

I thought V was good as a kid, but watching it now I'm like, Wow, this is terrible.

2 mini-series, then an unsuccessful TV show

"V"

"V the Final Battle"

"V the series"

i kinda liked V...when it first came out I watched it religously. I watched it last night and still liked it. I will watch the new one.

techweenie 11-02-2009 09:25 AM

Like the original Star Trek, it was okay for its time, but the re-airing of V yesterday was one of those 'what I wouldn't do to get back 4 hours of my life' times. Effects were beyond awful.

On the plus side, Jane Badler still looks hot in a 1983 kind of way, and all the chicks have 'Farrah hair.'

Preview of the new V has nice effects, but everyone in it seems to be badly cast and the action hits every SyFy cliche. Nothing fresh.

Thumbs up... good stuff from the other side of the fence... CG not 100% as good but all in all a good buy !

You have to admit the cast member who plays the lead visitor is smokin hot! What a set of legs. Well, until they shed skin and become some reptilion creature.

Isn't she the same girl that was the evil ori boss in stargate, and the lovely prostitute in Serenity ?

red-beard 11-03-2009 04:16 AM

Yep, she is playing Anna, but it also has other cast members from Firefly as well, Alan Tudyk.

creaturecat 11-03-2009 06:47 AM

V is morphing into a mini series as opposed to a series.

red-beard 11-11-2009 04:32 PM

It seems to be moving awfully fast. 1st episode, the V are already evil.

I had to wait to watch the first episode on Hulu, my recorder failed on Episode one.

Dark, darker than the original. Well shot, and everything seems good, except that it is moving too fast.

The Original was campy and stupid in places (why can't the V find the out in the open command bases?).

techweenie 11-11-2009 04:41 PM

Weird, I thought it was moving super slow. Seems like they covered a lot of the same territory in the first and second episode.

It has an interesting twist on the original, which I won't mention for the sake of those who haven't seen it yet. Still can't get over how uninteresting most of the casting is.
