Any snow between MA and MN?
I'm considering driving from Boston to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving in the 73T.
Anyone have snow between here and there? What states salt their roads?

Chicago could definitely have snow around Thanksgiving, but I do not believe it has gotten to that point yet. And they salt the hell out of their roads.

Could be dry, could be snowy and salty the whole way. If you're trying to avoid road salt, it would be a dumb move. Also, is that the car you want to be in on black ice? I tend to want airbags and an expendable/replaceable/insured car.

We've had 4" of snow in MN already. There isn't any now, but Thanksgiving is weeks away.
I'd bet there is more of a chance of snow/ice than not.

wow, this trip sounds like a real dice roll. I would be prepared for up to a foot of snow/sleet/ice etc. Then again you might get zero. I would go for it if I had a decent set of chains for the rear, shovel, scraper. You know the drill. An under body or diy car wash would help with the salt. How is the defroster working? Good tread on tires? Interested to hear if you do it.

In many portions of the state Minnesota has already salted their roads due to, believe it or not, heavy frost. I'm in the south metro and have seen salt trucks out already. Generally speaking I'd also expect snow by Thanksgiving.

I would not do that. Very high chance there is alreadys salt residue on the roads in some areas, and very solid chance of encountering snow.
Gotta be honest, 20+ hours in a 73 911 does not sound like a good time to me.

Shaun, I was just thinking earlier today about a Thanksgiving about 25 years ago where I was playing basketball outside in shorts and a t-shirt, and based on the mild weather my cousins and I decided to camp out under the stars, and that night we got 6" of snow here in PA. Even if it is clear on the way out, the trip home could be a nightmare.
