Ok. I'll take a beating.
I like the Yankees.
However, how in Gawds good name does one of - if not the - highest paid players in baseball , ie: A-WhatsHisName - swing at junk like he did last night and get away with it?
What did Madonna do to him?

It seems that either the Phillies end up hitting home runs or can't do anything at all. Six solo shots in the series.

Umps are terrible in this series, too.

Typical yankees fan, shows up talking trash when they are up in series 3-1.

That game last night was a heart-breaker. Feliz's home-run in the 8th was as clutch as it gets, then Lidge comes in and gives up 3 runs with two outs. I gotta say though I loved the smart base running by Damon, that was heads up baseball.

Don't stereotype the entire fan base with just a few posts. You can't believe how much trash Philly (almost as much as Boston) fans talked to my broadcast booth staff during the NYY Spring Training.

They gave me a bad impression, but I'm not going to say "typical _____ fans..."

PS - I do hope my boys can close this series already.

I was really hoping the Phillies were gonna pull that off last night. I don't 'hate' the Yankees...I really really dislike AR...and thus don't like the Yankees by default.

all i know is there was A LOT of Philly chatter a few days ago, and now silence. Just thought I'd stir it up again. :P

Anyway... last night was HUGE. IF the Lidge doesn't blow it, they'll probably win it in the bottom of the ninth... after all, Mo wouldn't be in the game at that point.
There's a very good chance Philly will win tonight with Lee on the hill, so the series, in my mind, was 1 strike away from being 3-2 in Philly's favor heading back to NY. Now I think it will be 3-2 in NY's favor heading back to NY. BIG difference.

This was shaping up to be a great world series, esp. after the first game.

Alas, it looks like it is not to be. The Phillies just aren't that much better than the Angels were.

I think the Phillies are a very good team (as were the Dodgers and Angels), but this $208 million Yankee team is just too much.

Would have been fun if the Phillies could have put up a little more of a fight, but no one has the firepower and pitching that the Yankee$ have. Hopefully the Phillies can at least win one more to make it somewhat respectable.

I couldn't agree more, which is why I am probably a little bitter today. Sorry about the snide remark.

no apology necessary. snide remarks is what rivalries in sports are all about.
but it's not over for philly yet. i COMPLETELY disagree with what Girardi is doing here. I wouldn't pitch Burnett and Pettite on short rest. Why waste AJ with Lee pitching tonight. THen the yanks will have to try to do it with Pettiete on short rest, which he never does and doesn't have success doing. I'd pitch Godan tonight, conceed the loss, and go back to NY with a fresh AJ and CC if need be. But I'm not paid to be the manager.

Pitching petit on short rest is not a good idea.

Best base running in a world series I've ever seen. Full disclosure: I am a lifelong Yankee fan, but I've never seen anything like that in a WS ever. It changed the whole dynamic and strategy of the inning and really threw Lidge off his game. That was game changing base running.

Anyway, go Yanks!

Damn that was close. The Phillies will be lucky to go 7 games in this series. NY is very strong at bat...let's see if they pitch Pettitte and if so how he does on short rest. Game 7, if there is one, will go to CC.
