toy guns being made illegal in AUS
Legislative Lunacy Website
snip.. Amendments to Firearm Act 1977 and Regulations 2008 Firearms Img Imitation Firearms have increasingly come under police attention. They have become more developed, some readily being able to be converted into real firearms. An imitation firearm may fire blank ammunition, simulate the functioning of a real firearm or look like a real firearm and are either capable of or can be modified to fire projectiles. Anecdotal evidence indicates that incidents, including criminal offending, have risen from 1-2 incidents per week in the early 2000's to approximately 4 incidents per week. On 1 October 2009 amendments to the Firearms Regulations 2008 come into effect to regulate the possession of imitation firearms and carry substantial penalties for non-compliance. Firearms Amnesty 1 October - 31 December 2009 There is a Firearms Amnesty commencing on 1 October 2009 and remaining in force until midnight on 31 December 2009. During the Amnesty persons can hand in any firearm, imitation firearm, firearm part or ammunition at a police station without fear of prosecution. contact SAPOL Firearms Branch, telephone 8204 2495. snip..

Doesn't sound like they are talking about "toy guns". Not the usual made of plastic, uses a spring to fire a plastic pellet type guns anyway. Any "toy gun" that can be easily modified to fire a real projectile or is designed to fire blanks isn't really much of a "toy".

Technically a "plastic pellet" is a projectile, that is what they fire at protesters, they just travel a lot faster than a childrens toy. Potatos are illegal projectiles in my state.

Yep, you'd probably need every one of them to contain a rabid Koala!
