Steven Tyler Quits Aerosmith?

Joe Perry: Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith - Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 | 4:03 p.m. - Las Vegas Sun

So, apparently Steven Tyler has 'quit' Aerosmith.

First,

Why would a band like that even say things like "quit"? They could just stop playing. Maybe if Brad Whitford "quit", they could get a replacement. But if the lead guy "quits", it's quits.

Since Steven Tyler broke his shoulder at Sturgis, they cancelled recording plans and Joe Perry went into the studio and recorded a solo album. Now he is touring on that album.

But Steven Tyler has been seen "sitting in" with Joe Perry's band as recently as last night.

IMO it's a publicity stunt, since they don't have a record in the can and need to stay at the top of the soup while they figure out what to do.

Blah Blah Blah.

hasnt he done that about 20 times already?

herr_oberst 11-11-2009 09:09 AM

Is he still relevant?

I think I would rather see his daughters than him...

He said on stage last night that he's not quitting. We can all breathe a sigh of relief...

“I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith. Joe Perry, you are a man of many colors. But I, motherf#cker, am the rainbow!”

Whatever that means.

Who's going to provide soundtracks for Jerry Bruckheimer / Michael Bay movies?

Word is today that he did not quit.

Me thinks Mr Tyler has become a bit "Toxic" again and may need some sorting out.

He's one of my all time favorite singers.

Him in a duet with one of my other favorite artists.

Couldn't they just throw a brown wig on Joan Rivers, have her lip synch and call it a day?

Nah, I think he looks more like Nancy Pelosi.

re: Joan Rivers....I played quite a few shows with her last year, she treats musicians well. Like Rickles, you're part of the act with many "sight gags" throughout the show. If she has one more facelift, I'm afraid she'll have a goatee.

Saw Joe Perry last time the band broke up... he was smoking the guitar (and the band was motherf***ing LOUD!) great show.

Areosmith is one of my favorite bands.

+1 on the band may be back on the meds (the bad kind) and may need to detox.
