In Shanghai, every taxi is a VW. A large majority of the remaining cars on the road are VW or Audi. THE most popular model in Shanghai is a black Audi A6. Just from personal observation...
China is a huge market and its growing FAST.

Audi is also very popular in Russia...but then again anything that's not Russian-built is popular in Russia

|
several manufacturers, Audi included, build specific models in China for the Chinese market only. A couple prime examples would be the A6L and the 5-Series Long. I have heard from friends who were once from China that the build quality is not quite the same but I have no actual evidence of this.
