What's the scoop on online stock?

Like Scottrade, and Etrade. Are they reliable, do you use them?

I use ShareBuilder. I believe they are a division of ING Bank. $4.95/trade.

I have used Scottrade for fun more than real investments. Local office, very reliable. I have wealthier than me friends who used them for years with no issues and investing large sums of $. $7 trades.

I have used E-Trade for years, great service. $7.99 a trade. I THINK they have a deal going for new investors 30 free trades. I would bet there is a time limit on them though. I don't trade often so $7.99 dosen't hurt much.

I used Ameritrade for a while with no complaints, felt I wasn't spending enough time on my account to do it justice and turned it over to the broker who had serviced my dad's account.

I use Scottrade. I've not had any problems. I did a bunch of research about 1.5 years ago, and they seemed to be the favorite.
