Lucky bastards that got to film those. The first one was really funny, "I'm not going to flinch!" Hah, he didn't flinch, he crapped his pants.
I've seen the one with Alan DeCadenet before, it cracks me up every time. Just imagine how that engine sounded as is flew over I bet that A-10 flyby was pretty darn scary, and I suspect the pilot flew extra low for the camera man. Amazing planes, but not nearly as amazing as having a blackbird buzz you.

Must be absolutely thrilling to fly low level like that.
Some guys have all the fun - not fair. I'd liked to be buzzed again by a low level A1E Skyraider Sandy. ![]() . Douglas A1E Skyraider take off and landing YouTube - Douglas A1E Skyraider take off and landing Wright 3350 Radial Engine YouTube - Wright 3350 Radial Engine

Don,
A very good friend of mine flew "Sandy's" during the early part of Viet Nam. He was in the Wright Patt Air Force museum a few years back (was there with him) and he saw a BU number that rang bells. He returned home and sure enough, the A-1 Spad at WP was one that he flew in 1964/65 with the Air Commando's in Viet Nam. Its in Dayton because its the very same airplane that Bernie Fisher flew when he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. A-1 Skyraider - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Douglas got this airplane right the first time! Joe A

That one with the Spitfire is funny, the one with the SR-71 is pretty crazy; that had to have been one of the most ahead of its time machines ever.

One of my co-workers flew F-102's and OV-10's out of Japan a long time ago....he was telling me about the SR-71's there. What a rush. The Japanese called it the Habu.
One of my other bud's does airshows in his Pitts...i'll see if I can dig up some of his vids.

Some of the most fun I ever had was flying cropdusting and fire fighting aircraft years ago early on in my career. We had lots of old WW2 aircraft from the P2V Neptune and B-26's. Also had B-17's but I never got to play with that one. Back in the early 1970's WW2 aircraft were still everywhere and not expensive. Also gas was well under .50c a gallon, so you could afford to fly them. HnT, Yes have read the book and its a very good one. There are several other excellent books about this time frame. Joe
