Time to eat the dog?

Their most startling conclusion is that dogs are significantly more damaging to the planet than SUVs.

The authors claim that keeping a medium-sized dog has the same ecological impact as driving a 4.6 litre Land Cruiser 10,000km a year.

Interesting read, but I do question the "global hectare" method of determining environmental impact.

If I take their numbers at face value, I can conclude that its better for the environment to have dogs than to have kids (in the USA at least).

Or that any old American walking around consumes 23 TIMES as many resources as a Land Cruiser??

So, to correct over crowding, global climate instability, and depletion of resources, the robots must take over and kill us all. They'd instantly wipe the usage of energy by a factor of 5 or more.
